Michelle McAuley of Wigtownshire Health and Wellbeing Team will join us this Thursday by Zoom to talk about the services they offer and how we can access them.

The team work with a variety of organisations including education, social services, police, voluntary groups and individuals to develop projects aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of people in Wigtownshire.
The Wigtownshire Health and Wellbeing Team are able to:
Signpost people to a number of groups, activities and organisations within Wigtownshire. These groups include:
•Support groups for health conditions
•Boccia and new age curling
•Opportunities for volunteering
•IT support, arts and crafts
•Dancing, tai chi, gardening, walking
•African drumming
•Youth groups, social groups
•Disability organisations
Offer confidential 1 to 1 support to help individuals think about what they could do to better manage their health and wellbeing
Other projects within the team are:

The team provide a 14-week course for people who have a chronic, long term condition which includes
•Information from a wide range of relevant services including therapies, activities and council services.
•An exercise programme designed to improve your balance and strength and help prevent falls

Helping you access local opportunities such as exercise or social activity groups to:
•Improve your health and wellbeing, especially for those with low mood, depression and anxiety
